Re: Sabena still alive in Shangai?
In the U.S., this kind of thing is pretty common too. I haven't seen Sabena anywhere here, but the Swissair name and logo seems to soldier on in some airport signage. Phoenix's terminal 3 is legendary for this, where you'll still see the names "Midwest Express," "American Trans Air&qu...

Re: Delta: PHX-MSP-GRB on 738 and DC-9 (Part II)
André, Delta has done a lot of mixing of the pre-merger DL and NW fleets, especially on narrowbody craft. A lot of the A319/A320 flying moved to Atlanta and Salt Lake City. In the case of SLC, I've heard that the Airbusses' better range played a big role. With MSP and DTW being centrally located, th...

Delta: PHX-MSP-GRB on 738 and DC-9 (Part II)
This is the part two of my trip to visit my family in Phoenix, AZ in June. You can find part one here: https://www.aviation24.be/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=42985 It was a wonderful seven days in Phoenix that included a lot of spotting at the wonderful Sky Harbor International Airport. Seeing the...

Re: Delta: GRB-MSP-PHX on DC-9 and A320
Thanks for the kind words, André! It's very nice to be back here - I always feel like I learn something new! And, if I can pass along some info, that's a bonus! How is catering these days on the DL flights? Have most of the NW planes been repainted in DL colours? DL catering is pretty comparable to ...

Delta: GRB-MSP-PHX on DC-9 and A320
Hi all! It's been an ETERNITY since I posted here, so I thought I'd give you folks something nice to read... a trip report involving a DC-9! :D This trip was to my most common destination, Phoenix, AZ, to visit my family in June. It also gave me the chance to experience the "new Delta" for...

This is great news! I'm sure the A340 (-500 and/or -300) will look amazing in US colors. It will be great to see US expand international service out of PHX, which has been desperately needed for several years. I know it is frustrating for Phoenix passengers to have to make a connection on to an inte...

AirTran will add 1,100 new jobs in WI, if merger is approved
http://www.wtaq.com/shared/News2005CSS/NewsReadStory.asp?ID=113687&CAT=3 I have been watching the AirTran-Midwest debate on A.net and people's opinions on the merger seem to be varied. What do you all think? Obviously, I don't want the merger to go through because we would lose our hometown airl...

With the new CRJ-1000 coming out, plus competition from Embraer, the Russian Regional Jet (RRJ), and even the A318 (to a certain extent), I just don't see much of a market for the F-70 and F-100 anymore. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see these beautiful aircraft grace the skies again, but I ha...

X-ray machine makes debut

Well, since it is voluntary, I can't say that I am opposed to it. I, for one, would never walk through this x-ray machine, but if you want to do it, I guess that's your purogative.

For spring break, my family and I might fly to San Diego on NW. Our routing would be GRB-MSP-SAN, I'm sure. If we don't take the trip, I will probably spend spring break in Green Bay. :( (Well, at least I will be able to spend some time at the radio station. :) ) As far as flights I have already tak...

I will for sure be a much faster canidate! But i wonder if its so good to just from a cheep F27 to costly CRJ200 Well, FedEx has already made their decision to replace the F-27 with the ATR-42, so I am sure they will continue with that strategy. I can see how the CR2 would be a good option for air ...

Right... Because the problem with the CRJ900 was that it wasn't long enough. The consumers will love this airplane! Why would the customers dislike the fact that it is long? I can understand the width being an issue, but there is no reason why a customer would want the aircraft to be shorter...
