Re: Taxi drivers in Brussels are not friendly - Tripadvisor
If we assume that international tourists regard taxi drivers at Brussels Airport as Brussels taxi drivers I think this is a wrong assumption. International tourists may arrive at Brussels-Midi/Zuid by train or take the train from Zaventem into Brussels and take a taxi at, for instance, Brussels Cen...

Re: Ryanair in 2014
On a forum (just like in society) there are a number of wirtten and unwritten rules to abide. Unfortuntely, I must say, Dear Sean, that you are one of the members infringing most regularly those unwritten rules of good behavior. But to comeback to the topic : if there is one thing you have convinced...

Re: Ryanair in 2014
The Ryanair Pilot Group has published a press release during the Berlin Air Show. RPG has done a survey among its members and it seems that a majority is not very happy with Employment Contracts, Tax Issues, Summer Leave and Pilot Turnover. Re: Ryanair in 2014
I see that the "soap' is alive and kicking :? That's not the airlines fault, if people choose to take that much on board. To a large extent it is the airline's fault, because it charges for a piece of checked-in luggage. So, people will try and carry on board as much as possible in order to avo...

Re: Brussels airlines future and financial perspective
Their analysts can also read a financial statement and know that brussels airlines is at least probable to bankrupt in the mid term. It will be the companies that are able to exploit that void very fast who will be able to capture a significant part of the market in the longer run. Unfortunately, I...

Re: 'Time for a new poll' - poll
Hi Bart ! Thanks for running the poll on AA's new livery. 15 like it 17 don't 2 undecided and 3 Don't Cares. No clear majority. Close to a draw. Since there haven't been any additional answers these last days... Time for a new poll ? Suggestion (to keep the poll function of Luchtzak dynamic) : SN fl...

Re: Brussels airlines future and financial perspective
It's worrysome to me that RJ100 replacement is taking priority over longhaul expansion, I understand your frustration. Both are necessary. Replacing the RJ100s which cost too much because they burn too much kerosene, by aircraft that consume less fuel (A319/320) is necessary and the extra capacity ...

Re: Brussels airlines future and financial perspective
Article on Flightlevel mentioning that Lufthansa does not plan to buy the remaining 55% stake in brussels airlines in FY2014 As mentioned before, my prediction is that LH will not buy at all the remaining 55 % of shares they can acquire. The other shareholders made the mistake to give LH till 2017 ...

Re: Emirates to Brussels?
I fully agree with you. As I wrote earlier, I don't understand Emirates' success. They are not particularly cheap and not a fantastic airline either (from what I hear from people/colleagues who have flown with them).regi wrote:An average price level to sit 10 abreast
But they have a very efficient hub.

Re: Emirates to Brussels?
If you ask me, people visiting Dubai for leisure on their dime are not tourists... they are people who don't know better. There is literally nothing to do there unless you fancy a stay in a prison for reason A or B.detainedindubai.org will be your reference. Honestly, I cannot follow you there. I h...

Re: Replacement of Brussels Airlines' Boeing & Avro RJ fleet
It probably depends on how much the wet lease would cost (it would probably be a "semi" (?) wetlease with
b.air flight attendants) compared with the generated revenue (while waiting for the fleet renewal).

Re: KLM to introduce new livery
The EMB190s, 787s and Fokker 70s (how long are they going to keep them in the fleet ?) will get the new livery. Apparently, the new livery does not look good on KLM's other aircraft (737 777, 747 and A330) and only minor adjustments in the letter types (Royal Dutch Airlines and Flying Dutchman) will...

Re: Emirates to Brussels?
I had the opportunity to fly Emirates only once, in the early 1990's when both they and I were very young. The recollection I have is that they were good, but not fantastic (not even very good). From what I observe I tend to conclude that their fares are seldom cheap. From what I hear from colleague...

Re: Emirates to Brussels?
Given the limited means put at b.air's disposal by its shareholders, even if one would consider Dubai as a lost opportunity, one cannot seriously consider a priority. The real missed opportunity is YUL and an evening flight to NYC (instead of IAD) with a timetable mindful of passengers and not only ...

Re: Replacement of Brussels Airlines' Boeing & Avro RJ fleet
Perhaps an answer to one of my questions :
http://info.cseries.com/en/#/cseries/fl ... /florence/
But before the C100 would be available the EMB175/190 would probably be the best replacement for the Avrojet to Bromma.

Re: Emirates to Brussels?
Just an additional thought to feed the discussion (althoug slightly off topic, but we're used to threads drifting off topic). If b.air were to consider flying to the "Gulf" (which I'm fairly sure they will not do and I don't think they should consider it for the near future), what about RA...

Re: KLM to introduce new livery
Im' not a KLM fan, but I agree that the new livery looks very nice. My guess is that Kl will test the public's reaction on Cityhopper aircraft. If the reactions are positive, they will give all their aircraft the new livery (just a guess).
