Re: Brussels Airlines too noisy at Stockholm Bromma Airport

@Flanker2 The use of airbrake is the way to land the Avro. We always deploy the airbrake at +-100ft ... If the speed is to high sometimes a bit higher, but SOP at 100ft . Before you ask: If the airbrake is inop. we have to add an increment to the Landing Distance Required. Normally we land using Fla...

Re: Brussels Airlines too noisy at Stockholm Bromma Airport

@Flanker2 Approach speeds depend on the landing weight, the landing config. (amount of flaps) and gusts. On the Avro also an increment is required when icing conditions prevail. It has nothing to do with runway length.
We land in Bromma as we land anywhere else.

Re: Air France: war between management and pilots

Thing is: You don't know what every individual has to give in... That was one of my points in my previous post. FE: every department needs to save 10%, in some departments they retire people early, don't replace people leaving the company, reduce amount of interim jobs etc... As individual remaining...

Re: Air France: war between management and pilots

It is easy to judge when one is not involved. Everything you give in, you loose. Believe me I experience it every day. Managements are not trustworthy nowadays. All that counts is figures, people management seems far gone in most companies. Well this will backfire one day in any company. Meanwhile A...

Re: Emirates A380 is in Brussels on Friday 18th Sept 2015

Do they have material to handle it? Will it be parked at a nose-in, and if so which one?
Do the have push-backequipment for it?

Cheers

The failure wasn't only in Brussels. BRU FIR was closed.

One Aeroflot A319 landed in EBBR when the BRU FIR was closed. Does someone know anything about this?

Re: Did Brussels Airlines hire 20 Lufthansa student pilots?

Direct entry F/O... I mentioned clearly that if they pay the TR even Ryanair will hire them. In fact those 20 pilots are contract pilots, like any other contract pilot, if they'll go they'll be replaced by someone else. A temporary contract is still a contract, so if you breach it, there will be con...

Re: Did Brussels Airlines hire 20 Lufthansa student pilots?

Easyjet? (Turkish?) Air France? Cargolux? What do you know Sean, I've seen many people with less hours on Avro leave for these companies, and that without a proper type rating. If you have an airbus 320 TR with 1800 on type you'll find a job. If you pay for your TR, even at FR. You claim you know it...

Re: Did Brussels Airlines hire 20 Lufthansa student pilots?

Indeed, and after two years they'll be gone, freeing up my space on the airbus. If they would have hired Belgian ab-initio's, it would have been on the Avro, untill the complete phase out.

You don't listen to any radio, otherwise you wouldn't give such a foolish reply. Indeed, you hear no difference between a Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Flemmish... speaking English. Sorry how stupid of me!

Re: Background info on hiring techniques at the low cost airlines

Dear Sean, contractors are hired for the phase out of the Avro. Most of them will be gone by the time the Avro is out. I prefer this over firing all Avro pilots ;-) Some of them will fly contracts in summer, for the seasonality. Like this people with a contract of Bru Air can keep their working regi...

How can they determine if it was one of the pilots knocking the door? Do pilots bang with a different sound?
