I believe there will be a low-key ceremony for SN staff, not sure if any press will be there.sn26567 wrote:This new livery should have been unveiled in early April, but I think that the ceremony (if any) will be postponed due to the attacks. Thus OO-SNA should still be in OSR where it is being painted.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Nice to see one of our birds in BRU, but very strange from SN to take an A330 with PW engines, when you have an entire fleet with GE engines... Doesn't 9V-STI have RR engines ? I believe there is a mixup. 9V-STI has RR engines. In the current SN fleet, there are 3 GE's (SFM/N/O) and 5 PW's (SFV/W/Y...

Not only old(er) people, I know quite a few of young(er) people who are calling Brussels Sabena and those were (as a figure of speach) in their diapers when Sabena went bankrupt. (Probably off-topic, but anyway) not only old people. DR Congo especially. I remember being in Kinshasa, and the word in...

Looking at the wingtip (typical A330/340 wingtips) and the engines (RR), I'd say this is in fact an A330.sn26567 wrote:Another small thing :the Air Transat looks rather like an A 310.

I heard that the engines are not owned by SN but leased, so they will be returned to the lessor.Bralo20 wrote: If the engines are current and aren't in need of an overhaul then they shouldn't have much trouble of making a nice profit.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Anyway, it looks like a couple of 330s would be welcome at SN: SFY is now stuck in IAD since more than a week and flights are being cancelled due to the lack of plane, and this during the high season! Today's SN203 is not cancelled, but replaced by SN1203 at 17:00 local. Aircraft: A340-300, i think...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
I'm afraid that most of these A330 (Emirates, Skymark) don't have the right engines though... I wouldn't be suprised if they are looking at RR-powered aircraft. LH/LX A330's are all RR, so spare parts could be available more easily. Also, if they are looking at A330neo or even A350 in the distant f...

Allow me to find it somehow "strange" that Lufthansa maintains it presence in Accra for the upcoming Winter 2015/16 season. Expect this to change ;) It seems you were right. I can't find any direct FRA-ACC flights on the LH website anymore after Oct '15. Though I find it strange that as o...

Re: SN welcomed 15.0% more passengers in May
If I remember correctly, last year in May there was nearly always a 330 out for C-check.
This year this has not been the case, which I believe is one of the main reasons for the significant long haul passenger increase.

Again, for me it makes perfect sense that LH stops ACC and transfers it to SN and the other way around with NBO. Mind you, I have not seen any official confirmation that LH will drop ACC. (this question has been asked before in this topic). If I try to book a flight to ACC in November or December v...
