Re: RwandAir & Rwandan Aviation News 2023

Tyre burst for sure but what was the root cause? A bit like in some countries, having an argument with a person in uniform carrying a gun may result in a "cardiac arrest". What is very likely to have occurred here is that a FOD, Foreign Object Debris, lying on the RWY, punctured the tyre, ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023

Just got info from Lomé that OO-SFF is due to return tonight.
Direct LFW-BRU as SN1276 without the stop over in ACC.

Problem said to have been a battery and replacement to be delivered this evening by SN277.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023

OO-SFG is AOG at Abidjan since Thursday evening. A colleague of mine there just sent me this photo : OO-SFG at ABJ 20231210.jpg On arrival of SN231 from Cotonou, and before the return flight to BRU, a sick passenger had to be disembarked using an ambulift… Seeing the size of the gash in the fuselage...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023

OO-SFE is still stuck in EBB since Tuesday evening. According to FR24 there was no flight planned for her on Wednesday 11OCT, but her unavailability led to : = cancelling SN359 to FIH yesterday, = cancelling SN277 to ACC/LFW today, = cancelling SN501 to JFK tomorrow. SN359 and 277 were cancelled sim...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

This time the eagle is ready to fly to his homebase. Hopefully it will not be the reverse of a saying of a steward some 20 years ago on an SN Avro RJ: "It looks like a chicken, but flies like an eagle". Well now that you say that, the new livery looks like chickenpox to me. ;) H.A.

To be complete I must add that, yesterday after posting, I booked a BRU-DSS-BRU early October and the selection of seat was indeed still free of charge.

Just booked a BRU-MUC-BRU same day. No bag, so I took an Economy Light (Q). 283EUR + Taxes, fees, ... = 444 EUR. So be it. Select your seat : 20EUR, even for Senator/Gold. That's new for me. Anyone? SN web site : "On Brussels Airlines operated flights, HON Circle members and Senators have the p...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023

Now this is good news ! At the end of 2016 SN had only 9 aircraft for their long haul ops. When LH took 100% of the company it was clearly mentioned that SN was the Group champion on the African market and this enabled the fleet to grow up to 9 aircraft in 2023. This growth in the last 6 years, with...

Re: Air Belgium in 2023

Now they can ACMI for SN.... Why not, there is plenty of need if SN continues stubbornly to fly to destination where people are incompetent and the infrastructure is in disrepair according to some. So the "flag carrier" will be immediately identified in this priority market for the LH Gro...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Well, at least an additional plane will limit the risk of this : SN245 20230912.png SN245 that was due to fly SN245 to FNA today. The opposite in fact! An additional aircraft scheduled 6/7 will only increase the risk of a cancellation. If you want to increase resilience you need a spare aircraft no...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023

Talking about top management,
How many A330 did SN have in 2013? Nine (9) if I'm not mistaken.
And TEN YEARS after in 2023? Nine (9).
SN is in charge of this recognized all important AFI market, right?
