Re: BRU summer 2014: latest news, routes, airlines

Rumors in Greek aviation forums that Aegean will start new flights out of Thessaloniki. They will be summer seasonal flights at first but some could become year round: Brussels together with Berlin and Kiev are expected to start for summer 2014.

I just went on Vueling's website when you get selection from BRU it says direct flights to, while it mentions other destinations with a stopover in Barcelona: Alicante Asturias/Oviedo Barcelona Bilbao Casablanca Florence Galicia Grand Canary Ibiza Lisbon Madrid Majorca Málaga Porto Rome Santiago-de-...

Out of curiosity do you know anything concerning this route? Last I hard was a "disagreement" over the taxes and fees Ryanair has to pay at ATH. But at the end I do think FR will fly to ATH (as well as CPH) how soon though I don't know.

Re: Aegean and Olympic Air merger

The merger between Aegean-Olympic has been delayed until the second half of this year. The European Competition Authorities worry about the monopoly that would be created. In my opinion I think this merger should go through, Greece cannot sustain 2 full service airlines. There is not enough demand f...

Re: HEL, WAW, ATH, IST & brussels airlines !

ATH would be nice - SN could maybe look at expanding its code-share with Aegean to other destinations such as Baku. I don't know but SN seems to be a little bit of a slow player compared to the other airlines. Even Aegean is expanding massively this summer. 8 new international routes from Athens Kal...

Stupid question but how can you see this? I would like to know if possible.

Thanks :)

Re: New Greek Airlines

Another Greek-Canadian airline will start flights in May between Athens, Montreal, New York and Toronto. Chicago is supposed to be a destination also, but will open up later. There will be flights year-round. They are also looking at South Africa as potential destinations. They plan on using a fleet...

Re: BRU winter 2012-2013: latest news, routes, airlines

It seems that Eastern Airways have dropped the Brussels-Southampton route. I was looking at their website and it seems that it is not available for booking.

http://www.easternairways.com/

Maybe the route can be restarted together with another UK route? ex: Aberdeen - Southampton - Brussels

Berlingske a Danish newspaper says negotiations can take the whole night now. All aircraft have enough fuel to return to homebase. Normally you should be refunded/given an alternative route for your flight tomorrow.

We will know by midnight tonight what the outcome is. Someone in relation to SAS say its 50/50 percent chance of failure/survival. It seemed to be moving to a positive direction but you never know. Lets wait and see for the final outcome and all the best of luck for SAS.

It seems that the Unions have accepted some demands but not all. They have given counter proposals to save money and this needs to be looked at. Lets see but either this will end quickly or it will be an all nighter to find a sustainable solution.

Re: Something going on at SAS ?

The only problem with FlyBe taking over is that the Norwegian government wants to keep Wideroe in "Norwegian hands" so to speak. So either Norwegian the airline could take over (which I highly doubt it will or Norwegian investors will buy Wideroe or Norwegian firms will buy Wideroe.

Re: New Greek Airlines

Hellenic Imperial last sent 2 Jumbos to Pakistan for the Hajj. This summer they were still there. So they are somehow making money through charters and lease agreements but all scheduled operations have stopped. They didn't have the money for the paintwork of the A340's they were supposed to get.
