Re: Trip Report Copenhagen - Brussels with SN

Your friend was very lucky to leave! Denmark is only open to Swedes from Skaane/Scania (the southern part of Sweden), the rest of the country is "closed" for Denmark unless it's absolutely necessary for travel. CPH airport is much more convenient for all of Sweden south of Gothenburg as th...

Flight time was 1hr20mins which meant we landed 5 mins early in Brussels. The flight was operated by A319 OO-S...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

Well Aegean is offering pre-packed snacks. And in an article in the exyu-aviation forum someone flew Swiss and got the small sandwich so I do think BOB should be possible, also LH will start again a meal service for business class passengers. Wizzair never stopped either its BOB, I don't see why SN ...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

Wizzair started today it's first flight from/to Budapest. Can we expect any new flights from them to BRU? Seems odd for just that flight as Vienna and Tirana will start from Charleroi.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

OK, some news between the posts how much everybody is earning.... According to the latest, the deal or solution for SN is quite near. Speaking about the LH-group, so not only about SN, there is a thought or proposal to sell one of the members of the group or to bring that one to the stock market. T...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

Actually A3 was asked to continue the BRU flights so the government could have a link with the EU (I am fairly certain some other companies were asked to do the same). The cherry on top is the big Greek diaspora that lives here and they can go back to Greece fairly easily.

Re: Wizz Air in 2020

WizzAir has opened a base in LCA. New routes to 11 new routes to Athens, Thessaloniki, Billund, Copenhagen, Dortmund, Memmingen, Karlsruhe/Baden Baden, Salzburg, Suceava, Turku and Wroclaw starting in July. Apparently they also opened a base in MXP (although I am looking for a confirmation). Rumors ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

Remember LH is still waiting for the final nod from the EU competition authorities. There is also still no news for OS just like SN. Hopefully soon we shall know what will happen.

Re: Lufthansa in 2020

I am also in favour of keeping the Airbus deal for 2 reasons. First it keeps jobs and is also partially owned by Germany so it makes sense. Also for 9 billion euros just from Germany that is a lot of tax payers money, I would definitely want some say and guarantees. They will probably let Lufthansa ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

I agree that BRU needs to seriously do something to become busier and attract more airlines. It should definitely help SN in some form or another. ATH is slowly catching up and may even surpass BRU next year. They have good management have attracted many airlines over the past couple of years. They ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

Maybe they want to put EW in Brussels or maybe not. It was mentioned previously the LH knows the profitable routes but wouldn't SN also know the same information? Also if I remember correctly didn't the Belgian government say they could relinquish slots to LH? I doubt that they can do that as any EU...

Re: Austrian Airlines in 2020

A friend of mine based in Vienna and an aviation enthusiast like us and that is following very closely what is happening with OS says that there are rumors the Austrian government prefers to let OS go bankrupt as it would be cheaper for them to make a new airline. If OS goes bust it cancels any debt...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

I think they are playing hardball as is the Austrian government - nothing is a done there either or in Germany. I really hope also BRU is playing an active role to help mitigate the situation. One a final note I always wondered why SN did not cooperate more with SNCB/DB to at least add destinations ...

What about CS meetings with the Austrian Government and ours, moreover, represented by Alexander De Croo. It was not this week that he was expected rue de la Loi? Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

Good afternoon all, First of all, I don't think you should play bluff with CS/LH but you shouldn't give them SN for free without some guarantees for the future - that can include more European and longhaul destinations. I also think that a little more service would not hurt SN. You can't pay more mo...
