Re: Jet Airways out of Brussels?
Will Jet Airways leave Brussels Airport all together? No, that's not the intention. Yes, they will. Unfortunatelly. And in days max weeks all speculation can stop, after they announce. Which will be good. This is a story that was waiting to happen once Air India came to Star, Etihad invested in Jet...

Re: BRU Winter 2015/2016: latest news, routes, airlines
Yes, they did since start winter schedule. And correct they replace CPH by BRU.SabenaForever wrote:Did Emirates Skycargo commenced flights to BRU? It looks that there is a ORD-BRU-DWC flight. It is now the second week they fly this route.
I think Emirates changed CPH for BRU on this route... EK 9998

Thanks for the info, too bad it's already dark :'( A6-EFO diverted to BRU instead of CPH. No diversion, is scheduled 2 x week iso CPH as of today. Nice, I didn't knew that :) For how long? Only this week or "forever"? Forever, whatever that means in aviation... ;) They already have reques...

Re: BRU pax operations: the future
Emirates: due to traffic right restrictions they can not go to a second flight without a new bilateral agreement. Expect them to go to an A380 somewhere in 2017, as the airport advised they need around 18 months to be ready for scheduled operations. Jet Airways: expect them to announce soon they wil...

The new Ziegler building will be at Brucargo, not Cargo North. Besides the LH technics maintenance hangar, almost all the rest will be taken by DHL Express. Thank you BRU for this info. As of mid October, Emirates Sky Cargo will operate via Brussels Airport twice a week. On day 1 and 5, a B777F will make a stop on the route from ORD to DXB. EK has commercial traffic rights to sell cargo on those stretches to and from BRU.

Re: Air France presentation in Brussels
I avoid them at all cost...The train trip is hateful, double check in.. security at CDG.. the trip takes for ever..and the return is even worse, often having to wait at a damp dark drafty train station at CDG for an hour or 2 to take a train that makes a detour through Lille europe!!! No Thank you....

And if flights are operated out of MST, that is no competition for LGG / TNT ? Haven't read a single argument why it is competition, besides they fly to the same destination. As so many do. So how does TNT think they will get the cargo from the DHL customers ?? On the jobs: national bank of Belgium ...

Re: BRU Summer 2015: latest news, routes, airlines
It's also important not to increase the number of night flights over Brussels, especially cargo flights. They don't have that problem at Liège, so the decision of the government makes sense ET flights are day time flights, not night flights. Arriving in the morning, departure in the late afternoon....

Re: 2015 Liège Airport (LGG/EBLG) latest news
Since liberals from both Liège and Brussels have pleaded with Galant to suspend traffic rights from BRU, I assume the night flights discussion from BRU has something to do with it? Maybe relieving tension on this dossier, on the back of hundreds of people who loose their jobs? So the Brussels bourg...

(but obviously the amount of job is a big joke...) University of Antwerp and also National Bank did this calculation before, and their outcome in general is that 100 tons of cargo equals 1 job. So 10.000 ton is good for 100 direct jobs. But that includes everything, from loaders to warehouse people...

This could turn out to be a VERY boneheaded move by Galant, if the rumors are true that DHL threatened to cancel its new sorting center in BRU. ... and Ethiopian threatened to move its Belgian operations to the Netherlands. AFAIK ET still has some problems with the Dutch concerning landing rights (...

Re: Move Brussels Airport to a new place (ask the NIMBY's)
But "BRU" is right, we can't force anyone to move to a regional airport, the risk is very big to see the trafic going outside Belgium. Well ... that's for 3,6% of cargo trafic, it doesnt sound like much, but is it enough to create a bigger move ? If it was "only" 3,6%, that woul...

Re: Move Brussels Airport to a new place (ask the NIMBY's)
That study is competely wrong and is only there to proof what they want to proof... A complete night ban will result in much more cargo and jobs being lost. This happened in 2005 / 2007 when the curfew at BRU started, and most of that traffic moved outside Belgium resulting in several thousands of j...
