I thought Thai was looking at doing a Brussels-Athens-Bangkok flight? I saw it at Athens the other day and it was just magnificent to see!

In Israel they can do what they like. My relatives have flown with Swiss and had security questions after they landed. But on both flights no exceptional security checks. So I guess it's really chance what happens in Israel. But with EL-AL always expect longer queues.

To answer your question, the old airport was not more than a ware house. Although it had 2 runways the building(s) itself where already at overcapacity. I don't know if you saw, but the picture of the old airport clearly shows why a new one was needed. There was no room what so ever to expand. There...
