Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Has the CityJet SSJ contract already been expanded with a fourth aircraft? Because checking fr24, it appears all three SSJ's in SN colors, plus EI-FWC have all been flying pretty full schedules in the past week.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

The Lufthansa Group is one of the biggest airline groups in the world. They have means. At this moment they have about 200(!) new planes on oder. Why couldn't they just reserve some of these planes for SN, or order 10 extra? Because: -none of the planes currently on order are suitable replacements ...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation

And still, mixed ops means higher capacity. You can't compare single rwy throughput with mixed ops on parallel runways. With mixed ops you have arrivals on 25L & R. These have to be staggered, except when in Simultaneous Independent Arrivals mode (only for ILS approach, RNP approach (recent add...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation

The number of heavies is largely irrelevant in the way LHR operates: thy bundle heavies together for both take-offs and landings, meaning they only lose capacity when a heavy is followed by a smaller plane. This isn't realy somehing that's up for debate you know: mixed ops means larger capacity. I ...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation

LHR has a lot more heavies than LGW. Landing and take off roll are longer so reduced capacity. If alternating TO/LDG would create extra capacity LHR would be dong it on both runways. The number of heavies is largely irrelevant in the way LHR operates: thy bundle heavies together for both take-offs ...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation

Teach, I think you misunderstood HUE, landing capacity can be increased by using the two runways, but it makes you loose more in take off capacity, so the overall capacity decreases. Using 25L for take off would considerably reduce landing capacity. You could use it occasionally for departures in t...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation

relocating the RWY25L threshold will alleviate the problem especially because, thanks to the necessary parallel TWY to be built also, this will enable spreading the departures over two runways. But even this is not an "easy solution". 1 runway for arrivals and 1 runway for departures is s...

It doesn't. First 30 minutes is 2 Euros, unless you get a free Pcard+ from Interparking, then the first 30 minutes are free.

Allow me to say such is a little bit superficial, since those people clearly haven't thought the 2 options over and are just being guided by the adrenaline they'd love to finally feel when they'd read up on a significant new order being placed by Brussels Airlines in the international press. Let's ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Lufthansa doesn't need to 'open their purses' for this fleet renewal if the planes are leased, which they almost certainly will be, so that's not really relevant. Although the initial investment of a lease is much lower, in the end you are still paying off a brand new aircraft in your monthly rates...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Let's hope they FINALLY get some factory new aircraft. They deserve it. The three SSJ100s (on wet-lease from CityJet) will be factory new. Other than that, I highly doubt that Muttie Luftie will open its purse for new aircraft for SN. Lufthansa doesn't need to 'open their purses' for this fleet ren...

Don't count on that happening as long as The Orange One is in charge in the US.
