Hi, thx for that already ;)

Still nothing known about our other 'biz/mil' visitors, our 'tovarichi' the Russians?
Since not a lot is known yet about this meeting in Brussels thought this might be a good idea to share everything what people know/can tell if they have something. All put together we might benefit from it.

If topic not in place or not relevant feel free to move/close.
So far not so much is known yet I believe (or some know but can't tell ;) ) about the EU-Russia Summit Thursday/Friday at Brussels. Only thing what could be considered sure is ... Putin IS coming (otherwise the IL76 wouldn't bring all this limousines to BRU). No exact time or day is given yet but so far I found the following.

from the website from the European Council I have seen a 'only indicative' (no guarantees) press time schedule.
This document states the 'arrival of Russian president Putin at the press building Friday 21st at about 10:25 (LT).
source:
http://www.consilium.europa.eu/uedocs/c ... 134441.pdf

END of the last press meeting will be approx 15h (of course other factors could delay that) which makes it possible that they are leaving again between 16-17h30 maybe ... ? Close to darkness maybe but hopefully on time.

Of course speculations are possible if that is rather Thursday evening arrival or Friday morning arrival, but depending on exactly which part of the discussion Putin will be joining, it also looks very well possible to me that he could be arriving still on the morning of Friday, but maybe someone else knows something more ..

This in no way tells really a lot with guarantees but it might be a lead.
So if anyone knows something more , feel free to join.. ;)

Best regards, Yannick ;)

Hi

Thx for sharing guys ;).
Just wanted to add to my above post: This evening, Thursday 20 December, the leaders will have a dinner. Great chance is that Putin will also be joining this dinner, and so arrival will most probably be this evening (however no times known how late exactly). No guarantees either but it's worth trying your chances ;)

Hi

That's very sad news again 'squelch' :(.
They already had the majority of their flights cancelled instead of regulary scheduled lately, but still ...
I was especially hoping to see their 747-8F from time to time in Brussels in the year to come, but guess that hope is gone now. No 747-8F for the first years to come in BRU...

UPDATE: Runway use (for those out for the Russians or others) as of 11:25(LT) RUNWAY 07L arrivals (VOR-DME approach) , RUNWAY 07R departures (wind 110 deg. , 5 knots).

Arrival times Russians would be known, check :

At least B-HUP is a nice Silver Bullet... Go out in style

We will not get a firefighter salute probably because schedule is not yet reviewed, but all here think it'll be the last..

Hi

Squelch : you say departure time is between 20 and 21hrs, but when does it arrive, before 16h30 or so? Because that would still be possible to do maybe. If later it's just too dark ;)

This would rather mean another Tu214 iso Tu154.

Don't get me wrong TL, I appreciate your posts as well.
Kind regards,
