Brussels Airlines starts cooperation with time:matters : more flights for the “sameday”-service

Brussels Airlines announces a new partner: time:matters, the special service provider for courier, “sameday” and emergency logistics. With this cooperation, time:matters expands the number of flights within its “sameday”-network. Packages can now be delivered even faster.

Brussels Airlines and time:matters, a company of Lufthansa Cargo have announced their cooperation. Thanks to this new partnership, time:matters can now use Brussels Airlines flights departing from Brussels Airport for its “sameday” services, packages that are picked up and delivered throughout Europe on the same day. time:matters will be able to use 852 extra direct flights on a weekly basis, from Brussels to 44 “sameday”-agencies in 44 European airports. This large number of flights enables time:matters to offer an even better service for its “sameday” requests. The logistics company will have more possibilities to offer the fastest service and to reduce the transportation time of a lot of shipments.

Belgian and European clients alike will benefit from the expansion of time:matters network. With Brussels Airport and the Brussels Airlines network at its service for the sending of European “sameday” shipments, the delivery times from and to Belgium and to destinations beyond Belgium will substantially shorten. For example a shipment from Warsaw to Maastricht, can now pass via Brussels instead of Frankfurt and Amsterdam. This way, the delivery time is reduced with more than two hours to just four hours.

The partnership will also enhance shipments to all destinations on which Brussels Airlines offers direct flights from its homebase Brussels Airport. In many cases, transit flights via Frankfurt or Munich will therefore no longer be necessary. A direct flight from Brussels to Gothenburg, for example, equals a time saving of two and a half hours to the benefit of the customer. The integration of the Brussels Airlines network into the European time:matters network also allows for packages to be delivered later in the afternoon or evening. In the case of a transport from Rome to Brussels a customer can now drop off a shipment until 16.55 compared to 13.30 previously.

“The time:matters “sameday” network is, in size and schedule, unique in Europe,” says Peter Allard, Country Manager of time:matters Belgium. The added value that the partnership with the Belgian airline brings along for the customer is the increased flexibility: “the cooperation with Brussels Airlines enables a substantial time saving for “sameday” shipments.
