Ryanair announces seven new routes and 500,000 passengerS P.A. for MEMMINGEN (MUNICH WEST)

1 MILLION HALF PRICE SEATS FOR TRAVEL IN APR, MAY & JUNE

Ryanair, Europe’s largest low fares airline, announced today (18th Mar) that it will open seven new routes to/from Memmingen (approx 75kms west of Munich) starting May 2009 which will at last offer consumers and visitors of the Bavaria (South Germany) region competition, choice and very low airfares compared to the high fares and unjustified fuel surcharges of Lufthansa.

The seven new routes from Memmingen to Alghero (Sardinia), Alicante, Barcelona (Girona), Barcelona (Reus), Dublin, London (Stansted) and Pisa will deliver over 500,000 Ryanair passengers annually at Memmingen which will sustain 500 new jobs in the local area.

Ryanair celebrated their new Memmingen (Munich West) Airport, seven new routes and 500,000 passengers by knocking 50% off its 1million lowest fares for travel across its European network in April, May and June which are available for booking from midnight tonight on www.ryanair.com.

Announcing these seven routes in Memmingen today, Ryanair’s Michael O’Leary said:

Ryanair is delighted to join up with Memmingen (Munich West) Airport, to finally bring really low fares, competition, and choice to consumers and visitors of Bavaria. Memmingen, which is approximately 75kms West of Munich, provides Ryanair with a first and ideal gateway to Southern Germany and the Bavarian region.

These 7 new routes to Alghero (Sardinia), Alicante, Barcelona (Girona and Reus), Dublin, London (Stansted) and Pisa, mean for the first time that the people of Munich can now avail of Ryanair’s guaranteed lowest fares, with no fuel surcharges guaranteed, to travel all over Europe from May next.

“Passengers to/from Bavaria now have a real choice over the high fares, unjustified fuel surcharges and poor punctuality services provided by Lufthansa at Munich Airport. More importantly Ryanair’s partnership with Memmingen will create a flood of new tourists and visitors to Bavaria and we expect to carry 500,000 passengers in the first year which should sustain 500 new jobs in the local economy around Memmingen.

“To celebrate these new routes and Memmingen (Munich West) Airport, Ryanair is knocking 50% off our 1 million lowest fares which are now available for just €5, for travel across Europe in April, May and June. Since seats at these crazy low prices will be snapped up quickly, we urge passengers to book them immediately on www.ryanair.com.
