Ryanair leaves 8 pax on the apron in Nîmes

A Ryanair plane bound to Charleroi left 8 passengers on the apron in Nîmes. These passengers, who had registered their baggage and gone through security and were walking to the plane, saw the doors closing before they got to the aircraft. The pilot had decided to leave on time within the strict 25 minutes rotation period and not to wait 5 more minutes for the last passengers to embark.

Ironically, the plane had to wait 15 to 20 minutes to enable discharging the baggage of these passengers!

The passengers had been slightly delayed by the control procedures at the airport,but not enough to imperil a timely departure of the plane. After discussion with Ryanair, the passengers were allowed to board a plane on the next day without having to pay a fee.

Not an FR fan, but I have difficulty to beleive this:
- Pax were on the apron
- Doors closed but not all luggage offloaded

If they were on time at the airport, it's a "denied boarding" (EU Rule 261/2004).

You are correct, but if the pax were too late at the gate, because of there own fault: shopping, bar visit (I don't know if that was the case here) , then the captain is right to close the door. (Maybe he had a slot).

Too late to the gate ? No t possible ! FNI is a very little airport with two gates (but often two planes at the same time)
1 or 2 flights/day and no shopping area !
Unbelievable ! Walking distance between security and gate : 10 meters

I haven't heard anything about this, but it would surprise me that a captain would close the doors with pax on the apron, and then wait 15 min for their bags to be offloaded.

The story doesn't make sense and smells like another "let's bash Ryanair for the sake of it" story
