Maybe not really an abnormality, but I didn't know where to put it elsewhere ... it kind of intrigues me.

On today's SN morning flight From Brussels to Tel Aviv I noted a couple of plainclothed Belgian security/police officers on the flight, sitting completely in the back. Usually, this row is used as crew rest.

I am a regular customer of SN to TLV, but I never noticed this before.

Anyone has an idea what this can be about? Special guests on the flight? New precaution on flights to TLV? Or maybe nothing new, but I never noticed it before? Expensive cargo?

I guess that probably there was a deportee on the flight who needed to be accompanied because I operate frequently on the TLV route and I never had security on board without any reason so I guess that would probably be it ;) or perhaps a special guest who required those agents on board that is also possible besides on the day flight there is no crew rest foreseen so the last row is open for bookings ;)

Very strange flight path for SN 256 at this very moment. It looks like it was heading for BRU, by-passing Ouaga and then turned right heading to Ouaga now, but still at 37000 ft!

Or else FR24 indications completely wrong!

According to BRU arrivals panel, flight 1255 should arrive straight from Abidjan thereby skipping the Ouaga stop on the way back (contrary to what SN 256 would normally do). So wrong indications from FR24!

Winter storm Jonas is reaching the North-eastern USA. Lots of cancellations are already taking place.

Flight UA951 to Washington is cancelled. The flights to New York have taken off, but I'm not sure they will come back...

SN2046 Birmingham-Brussels arrived in BRU at 18h48 - ETA was 16h30.

According to Flightradar24, the aircraft (Flybe Dash-8 G-JECG) returned to Birmingham just after departure:

OO-SFO was apparently stuck in DKR since yesterday evening. It's now flying back to BRU via Conakry as SN 1306.
Does anyone know what happened?

Brussels Airlines OO-SSC (A319-100) operating HQ-816 for Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium to Marrakech, had a bird strike at departure from BRU.

I have no idea why it was cancelled. I only know it will be rescheduled tomorrow as SN1451.

Most likely due to high winds in ANR, JAF69J (OO-JVA) just performed a go-around.

EDIT: It seems like JAF69J is diverting to BRU.

Quite understandable as there is a lot of crosswind in Antwerp (wind is now 220 for a runway oriented 290 !)

To give you an idea, three METAR reports of around the time the JAF flight diverted (emphasis mine):

METAR EBAW 081050Z 23017G28KT 9999 FEW020TCU SCT041 08/02 Q0990 TEMPO 23020G40KT 4500 SHRA
METAR EBAW 081120Z 23018KT 9999 FEW025TCU 09/02 Q0990 TEMPO 23020G40KT 4500 SHRA
METAR EBAW 081150Z 24021G38KT 210V270 9999 -SHRA FEW025CB BKN031 09/03 Q0990 TEMPO 4500 SHRA

This gives a crosswind component of about 20-30 kts, quite 'sporty'. The direction of the wind is not that big of a deal, the combination of direction and strength can be quite a challenge, though.
There were also reports of Windshear about half an hour before the JAF went around, which is not something you want to run into.

BA396 missed approach - holding BRUNO - reaching fuel minimum - need to divert immediately to CRL (if no other RWY available) - RWY25L available

Yesterday, flight LO231 from Warsaw to Brussels scheduled to depart at 19:45 was delayed until 23:50 due to operational and technical problems. It eventually took off at 00:50 this morning to arrive at BRU at 02:32 !

Seems also with an aircraft change from the planned ERJ-175 to 737-400:

Probably the reason for the "operational and technical problems: E175 AOG, passengers having to wait until the 734 had completed other flights before being able to depart to BRU.
