at sunday there is a flight afternoon from Bahrein..CKS 747..Maybe this will last..

A small update for a busy Brucargo:

1. Sichuan Airlines increased the number of cargo flights to 5 from Chengdu to BRU. The 6th and last one will be added during the year.

2. A new cargo player at Brucargo: Silkway will fly a few times a week between Baku and BRU. For the moment 2 flights a week.

3. DHL Aviation started a new cargo route between BRU and Miami. They will fly 5 times a week. This route will be normally temporary bcs of the loss of commercial flights.

They did a test flight early this year/ late last year and back then they where talking about some flights/week.

No, this was planned. Nothing to do with COVID-19

The same for Sichuan Airlines who upgraded the number of flights. This was also planned before COVID-19

What is a direct consequence of COVID-19 are the extra new routes of DHL Aviation, Qatar Airways and some other airlines who are now flying additional to BRU bcs of the demand.
What is strange in one one are the cancelled cargo flights of Emirates. Probably they are now flying via AMS bcs of more slots. Emirates in general upgraded a lot of cargo flights but at BRU they decreased it

It's still waiting for the move of SN and their A330 to transport cargo. There is a huge need to Africa, East coast of The States and Asia.
For certain traffic and cargo the prices are already 20 times higher. So what they are waiting for??

Pharma flights to Miami and South America is boosting like hell now. Airlines cannot follow regarding the demand, so it would be really welcome

An SN spokeswoman already stated that 'cargo only' flights are not economical for the company.

keeping the A330's idle isn't economical either .. ? different airliners who don't own cargo planes are transporting cargo in the main cabin as well ... maybe cargo flights are reserved for the mother airline LH

Belgium is probably one of few countries in Europe to be well served by cargo airlines.

Liege, and Brussels have lots of cargo flights to the rest of the world.

Accra is served from Brussels and Liege, by Qatar Cargo and Ethiopian Cargo. I even noticed a new flight (maybe i m wrong) from Accra to Bru operated by DHL. https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/qy82

Don't forget that airlines such as Ethiopian Airlines Cargo or Qatar Airways Cargo provide also connecting to Asia or Afria via their hubs.

Why SN will start to operate some cargo flights with their A330s, while capacity is already enough ?

Why the need to bring LH back on every single "negative" thing about SN? Pathetic, really !
no need to be aggressive , it's just because LH has a cargo division they might be looking into cargo routes to do out of BRU if the demand is there ...

And SN no longer has a stand alone cargo department as it has been integrated in LH Cargo.

There was and is enough demand and support on the market, even to have a full cargo plane based on BRU so serve vertaling markets. But, and logic, it is more efficiënt for LH to consolidatie in FRA and thus to truck cargo from BRU to FRA.

It used to operate flights to BRU on behalve of 1 customer, as they leased the capacity for a vertaling period. This time they operate on their own behalf. So Yes, they flew to BRU before but at the same time, they are more or less new...

RwandAir now operates cargo flights from Mwanza (Tanzania) to Brussels, to export fresh products, mainly fish. The airline uses its A330s

Virgin Atlantic Cargo will also start next week with cargo flights to Brussels. The route they will fly is NYC - BRU

Cargo demand is very high between The States and Belgium
