Despite the Russian civil aviation remains in the dolldrums, its military counterpart announces some success.

It's a small 4-seat single-engine low wing aircraft. Actually it's an Ilyushin, but apparently somehow MiG has something to do with it.

Indeed, but that's the same as comparing apples to pears!
They are working in a total different branch of aviation...
Now you'll mention that Boeing and Airbus are also working in the military branch, but that's not the branch that "made" Boeing nor Airbus. MiG in the other way has only it's military know how to make it's name.
And with the number of planes they produced, I think you can hardly call it "one of the smaller manufacturers".
Just compare the military production of Boeing and Airbus, and put it besides the MiG production, and you might be surprised...

BTW what is the IL-103 they mention?
As the topic is about MiG, I suppose the "smaller manufacturers" you're talking about also contain MiG? If not, maybe you should rephrase your way of putting it, because one can understand it wrong
