Flybe DH8D near Brussels on Oct 12th 2011, loss of cabin pressure
A Flybe de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration G-JECH performing flight BE-593 from Manchester,EN (UK) to Brussels (Belgium) with 49 passengers and 4 crew, was on approach to Brussels descending from FL250 to FL200 when a pop was heard from the rear of the aircraft followed by noise of air escaping the fuselage, the flight crew felt mild inner ear pain and concluded the aircraft suffered a loss of cabin pressure. The cabin was climbing at 3000 feet per minute and was climbing above the set altitude of 7000 feet. The crew initially requested a continuous descent to FL100 with ATC, after the cabin pressure warning illuminated both flight crew donned their oxygen masks and initiated an emergency descent to FL080. The crew subsequently detected the cabin altitude had stabilized at 2000 feet again, the emergency was cancelled and the aircraft continued for a safe landing in Brussels.
The British AAIB released their bulletin reporting maintenance identified the inflatable seal at the aft luggage compartment cargo door had split permitting the aft cargo compartment to depressurize. The pressure differential caused the "blow out" panels on the bulkhead dividing the cargo compartment from the passenger compartment to open causing the pop sound and permitting the passenger cabin to lose pressure.
The AAIB reported: "The operator is working with the aircraft’s manufacturer to identify a more reliable door seal material."

A Brussels Airlines Airbus A330-300, registration OO-SFM performing flight SN-224 (dep Jan 17th) from Banjul (Gambia) to Brussels (Belgium) with 240 passengers, was climbing out of Banjul when the crew decided to divert to Dakar (Senegal) located about 90nm north of Banjul due to problems with an engine (CF6). The aircraft landed safely in Dakar.
The passengers were taken to hotels. A replacement aircraft has been dispatched to Dakar.

According to Belga news agency, a Brussels Airlines aircraft originating from Conakry in Guinea with destination Brussels via Banjul in Gambia made an emergency landing in Dakar during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. The 240 passengers spent the night in various hotels of the capital of Senegal. They will continue their flight this Wednesday.
"Shortly after take-off from Banjul, the captain got an indication concerning a problem with one of the engines", said Geert Sciot, spokesman for Brussels Airlines. "He concluded that it was more prudent to land in Dakar", added the spokesman, underlining that it was not an emergency, but rather a precautionary measure.
Since the repair of the Airbus 330-300 will take some time, a replacement has been sent to Dakar to bring back all the passengers to Brussels. The departure time is not yet known, but the aircraft will probably leave Dakar in the evening.

SN sent a Blue Panorama 767 that landed BRU around 7 am as SN 1224.(flightradar24)
Does anyone know why they didn't send their second 332 (HB-IQC) instead, which is supposed to be currently stored (airfleets.fr) and has been seen on this forum already repainted in SN colors?
And, btw, what is the current status of these 2 332's? IQA still flies under its swiss registration!
As a side remark, SN seems to have had quite a number of technical problems with their 333 's in Africa over the last few months.

I assume simply because HB-IQC isn't ready to fly for SN...? I didn't really notice this yet...but it is possible of course (I'm not always checking the technical problems of SN). More problems than normal? I would be suprised if that would be the case, SN just has a quite limited fleet and when something happens you immediatly see it in African and Belgian press (sometimes also French press). The reason for OO-JAD's 7700 was a medical emergency.
