Which A330 next for Brussels Airlines?

Re: Which A330 next for Brussels Airlines?
As long as they don't plan to fly to the West Coast of the US, South-America or some Asian destinations (China, Hong Kong,...), I don't see the need for them to buy/lease A343's. And except maybe for SFO, I don't see them starting flights to any of these regions in the next 2-3 (probably even 5 or more) years.

I bet brussels airlines won't need any other long haul equipment than the A330 before the 10th of that type!
The A330 suits very well for SN network and short/mid term development plans on the long haul side...

Re: Which A330 next for Brussels Airlines?
I saw a Brussels Arlines A330 parked in front of the Lufthansa Technik hangar in Malta today, but I wasn't able to see if it was the OO-SFU...
Re: Which A330 next for Brussels Airlines?
I assume so, the others are all in Belgium I believe. OO-SFU went from MAN (for paint) back to ZRH for a short time and then left again for Malta (maintenance and interior).Ziplepingouin wrote:I saw a Brussels Arlines A330 parked in front of the Lufthansa Technik hangar in Malta today, but I wasn't able to see if it was the OO-SFU...
Re: Which A330 next for Brussels Airlines?
I believe OO-SFN is currently in Malta. C-check?
Re: Which A330 next for Brussels Airlines?
In that case OO-SFU is still in ZRH until OO-SFN returns to Belgium?convair wrote:I believe OO-SFN is currently in Malta. C-check?

In the meantime, OO-SFU went ZRH - Malta yesterday, for its new interior I presume.

Just a guess or a real plan?HighInTheSky wrote:Is very high on the wish list indeedOO-ITR wrote:what about ex SABENA SFQ? a/c has been storedbrusselsairlinesfan wrote:Any idea about the next Airbus A330's to join the brussels airlines fleet (9th & 10th?)?

There is a list with a/c that are earmarked to be added to the fleet. OO-SFQ is very high on it due to commonality with a/c already in the fleet.brusselsairlinesfan wrote:Just a guess or a real plan?
Re: Which A330 next for Brussels Airlines?
Wouldn't that be a commercial tip?

Will they soon announce one or several "new" A330s?HighInTheSky wrote:There is a list with a/c that are earmarked to be added to the fleet. OO-SFQ is very high on it due to commonality with a/c already in the fleet.brusselsairlinesfan wrote:Just a guess or a real plan?
Is this a "secret list"?
Re: Which A330 next for Brussels Airlines?
TAM is off loading 10 A332s according to a thread on Anet (the first few will become available this August when their lease expires) to resture their fleet (they get the LAN 767s). Maybe time for SN to give their lessors a call The A332s which are coming online are max 15 years old (though most of them are in the 7 to 8 years range).
Re: Which A330 next for Brussels Airlines?
LJ, all good and well but are those TAM aircraft in good condition? After all, it's TAM.
Also, I think that A333's would be more interesting for SN, unless they start developing into Asia.

I'm sure this list is secret lolbrusselsairlinesfan wrote:Will they soon announce one or several "new" A330s?HighInTheSky wrote:There is a list with a/c that are earmarked to be added to the fleet. Re: Which A330 next for Brussels Airlines?
While the original 3 A330's (SFM, N & O) are powered by CF6's, all later added aircraft have PW4000 engines. Keeping this commonality in mind, my guess would be that any new A330 for SN would be PW4000 powered.
TAM currently operates 5 A330's powered by CF6 and 15 (including the 5 oldest of the fleet) powered by PW4168A, so this might be interesting for SN if they are looking for more -200's! I think they'd better give GECAS a call ...

Re: Which A330 next for Brussels Airlines?
SN seems to have recurring problems with its L/H fleet. After OO-SFU which flew there last week, OO-SFO is now gone to Malta too; C-check? tech problem? bad planning? They have had to cancel AFI flights almost every day in the last 3-4 weeks. Meanwhile OO-SFU was sitting in ZRH waiting for the paint to dry.
