Istanbul-Entebbe (Uganda)-Dar es Salaam (Tanzania).
Turkish plans daily flights to uganda, but in the same time they say that the route has not made profits since the opening in 2010. However, probably with the new advertising campain it will boost profits

THY has send a statement to Istanbul Stock Exchange saying they will launch scheduled services from Istanbul Ataturk airport to Kastamonu Airport (Turkey) which will be opened soon.

They also indicated that they will start flying again to Sinop Airport (Turkey) later this year after the maintenance project at Sinop Airport finishes.

crlhub, THY will fly to YUL (Montreal) tomorrow if Canadian Civil Aviation grants a permit, but It is not forthcoming as there are some political issues on Canadian side. I personally believe it is not commercial issue or Air Canada objecting!
Just political.....

On the other note this is an interesting reading:

A little bit the same as Turkey refusing traffic rights to easyJet for routes from the EU (except UK) to Turkey...

not exactly Lysexpat! Easy Jet UK and Easy Jet Switzerland can fly to Turkey under the bilateral agreements between Turkey and the U.K and Switzerland respectively. Not from a 3rd country (outside of their registered country).

EU wants any EU registered company to fly to Turkey (and in Turkey) anywhere and anytime without restrictions and Turkey has to accept EU as ONE country. In return Turkey is not granted same freedom and has to approach each EU country individually and negotiate. So EU is as ONE to Turkey but when Turkey wants EU, they are not ONE but individual EU countries. This proposal according to the Transport Minister of Turkey , of course, is not acceptable.
The Minister said in the past, that the day EU treats Turkey equal and offers the same of what it wants from Turkey, the agreement will be signed. I am not sure whether EU is ready to see THY or PGS or Onur Air, let's say, flying from London to Brussels?

So I will leave this to the politicians to work out! :)

globetrotter, there is still no definite date set for Mazar Sharif. Nothing has been announced yet I think. The above information about June launches are from THY Media Press.

Not about new routes, but still related to Turkish.
They will remove premium economy from their 77W fleet. Turkish Airlines only offers premium economy on 12 777's and failed to reach scale with this class. Instead they'll install more business and regular economy seats.

The Turkish premium economy was one of the best premium economy classes flying around, ending second in Skytrax' airline awards for two subsequent years and winning some other awards. The high amount of narrowbody aircraft in their fleet and the very premium character of the cabin, made it impossible to reach the right scale with this class.

And now South America:

Turkish Airlines plans to launch 4 weekly Istanbul-Caracas-Bogota and 4 weekly Istanbul-Havana-Mexico City services from June/July 2014.

At the same time, Turkish Airlines seeks to enter a partnership with Avianca and Avianca Brazil.

Today, first flight to Luxembourg, which raises the total number of Turkish Airlines destinations to 234!

Meanwhile, a confirmation for Latin America and new plans for North America:

Turkish eyes four new South American, three new North American routes

Turkish Airlines plans to triple the size of its South American network in 2014 with the addition of Bogotá, Caracas, Havana Int'l and México City. With Buenos Aires Ezeiza and São Paulo Guarulhos its current lone destinations on the continent, the Turkish carrier plans to exploit the fast-growing, but under-served, Colombian, Cuban, Mexican and Venezuelan markets by offering the fastest connections to the Middle East, most of Asia and parts of Africa.

Turkish Airlines is also accelerating its expansion in the US market, where it plans to add three new destinations next summer namely Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson, Boston and San Francisco, CA.

There will be 3 new domestic airports opened in Turkey shortly. They are Kastamonu , Bingol and Sirnak.

THY has told the Istanbul Stock Exchange that as soon as these airports are opened to business they will start flying from Istanbul Ataturk.
