Post by sn26567 »

A short summary of my year 2015:
  • 36 flights or segments (almost three times as many as in 2014)
  • 9 new countries: Croatia, Montenegro, Peru, Bolivia, and, during a cruise: the Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Honduras
  • 4 new airlines: LAN, Boliviana de Aviacion, Amaszonas, Avianca
  • 11 new airports: Berlin Schönefeld, Dublin, Treviso, Verona, Dubrovnik, Lima, La Paz, Cochabamba, Sucre, Uyuni, Cuzco
  • 2 new aircraft types: A320sharklets, A380-800
  • best memories: the comfort of the LH A380 and the trip from Uyuni to La Paz (the highest commercial airport in the world at 4050m) in a CRJ-200 of Amaszonas
  • worst memory: one of the meals on the Iberia A340-600 from Lima to Madrid

26 new airports: SEN-LPL-VDB-FRO-FEZ-CGN-CCF-BOS-IAD-DCA-CVG-PVC-NRN-LAS-GCN-LAX-LEY-LGW-VRN-ZAG-RJK-SPU-RVN-IVN-AYT+' SONOMA private field '

best memories: Flying above Napa Valley in a Boeing Stearman with my daughter & flying in Hoorn-NL in a Consolidated Catalina - Finally logged the Dornier 328 Jet after three attempts to BLL :)
worst memory: BA A380-800... so big,so quiet,so nice... don't understand a real AVGEEK can enjoy it... no turbulence,no noise,no hard pushback in the seats by take-off... best plane ever, you don't feel that you actually fly.... ahum... but that was the reason I fly hahaha

Looking forward to equal this record year !

Added 2:05 yesterday to get my year's total to a meagre 27:40, all behind my trusty 912. Anybody complaining about the quiet in a big airliner ought to have been with me yesterday: at one moment my pants lost all contact with the seat, my head hitting the ceiling at the same time! While the crosswind was so strong that at one moment I had a Wind Correction Angle of some 30° - go figure - even if my TAS is only some 80 knots. BTW both observations were near Geel, at some 1500' AMSL.

Hi,

11 flights this year
1 new country : Slovakia (BTS)
1 new airline : Corendon Dutch Airlines (promo daytrip to IBZ)
3 new airports : TLN, BTS, VRN and IBZ
1 "new" aircraft type : a B734 from AirExplore to and from BTS

Best memory was the trip to IBZ (free :P ) and a flight between CRL and CPH on a 1 month old FR plane, although I'm not sure I like the new seats...(btw, not free but extremely cheap ;) )
Worst memory: I will never pick 7A on a RJ100 again. Bad window alignment!

Looking forward to more flights in 2016!

I flew some 600 hours this year, to the typical FR destinations, bringing my grand total (of my career) to 10.314 hours logged in a B737.

Highlight of the year: the news that i will soon be flying Airbus 320, Boeing 777 and 787 and Airbus A380 :)

Downside of the year: I will be leaving a big part of my life and some fantastic colleagues behind :(

Hi,
45 legs this year which is probably a record for me but mostly short intra Europe flights
Tokyo HAN, Split, Zagreb, Florence and Helsinki airports were new to me.
The view on the endless AMUR river (Russia) on the flight back from Tokyo was amazing. This leg was on a 747-8, a new type to me, The Japanese food was also good on the Tokyo flights.
Landing in Split was nice with Croatia airlines (new for me) with a view on the blue seashore line and the many islands, same goes for take-off from Helsinki with the nice view on the endless number of islands

My best year for some time with 20 flights - 8 new airports flown from (although some visited before)
Venice
Marana Regional
Las Vegas
Madrid
Zurich
Dubai
Warsaw
Krakow
Only 4 new types flown on
B788
E175
E190
MD82
new airlines flown
Vueling
LAN
Helvetic
Swiss
LOT

In addition I have visited 26 new airfields and logged over 1700 new airliners, 700+ bizjets in a total of over 5000 new 'frames in 2015 (quite a lot of light and mil). All this and an in-patient stay in hospital - no wonder my wife thinks it should be a quieter 2016

Hope everyone has a great 2016

Reg

Two flights for me, any flight is a highlight for me though, as I rarely get the opportunity to travel! MAN-BRU and BRU-MAN. Two new aircraft for me though - OO-SSQ and OO-SSG. SSG had a lightning strike just after take off from BRU, that was also a new experience for me.
Sabena and Sobelair - gone but never forgotten.
