It is reported American will operate Philadelphia-Brussels service from 14 June until 21 August, 6 times a week. Service will resume in May 2017.

Personal thoughts: AA's announcement doesn't surprise me either. Even before 22 March I was questioning the value of this route. Brussels Airport is on its way to become a strong Star Alliance airport. Because of its medium size, there's not much left to capture by other/non-alliance airlines. With the exception of a decent VFR/ethnic traffic flow, if sufficient yields can be earned.
Indeed.
To me it seems like the attacks are a good reason for several airlines to cut their losses and axe already weak routes to BRU in an elegant way.
STAR will surely love it all, once the dust has settled. Given its their hub so to say, STAR companies are clearly looking long term as can be seen by the fact ANA (a newcomer in Belgium) isn't shy of returning, contrary to popular expectations (driven by the Paris example).
The replacement of Jet Airways on its Brussels routes seems to go astray: United Airlines cancels the launch of its second daily BRU-EWR due to commence on 5 May.
For the summer 2016 season, United continues to operate 1 daily flight with 3-class 777-200ER aircraft on this route.

UA998 BRU1100 – 1310 EWR 777 D
As a reminder: UA also offers daily 3-class 777-200ER service to Brussels from Chicago and Washington Dulles.

No suprise for me.... I think a lot of plans are set on hold or are delayed! 2016 wil be difficult... Good times will be coming again.. But we have to be patient...

Let's hope UA will be able to maintain their nice 772/77E on the 3 routes
According to ET website, ET705 will leave BRU on sunday 8 and 22 of may 2016 at 22.30 non stop to ADD. Other schedules aren't changing DEP 20:00 via CDG checking so far as October.
I took a flight from BRU to ADD on Sunday 17/04, it was BRU-CDG-ADD, then back on Thursday 21/04 (in fact Friday 22/04 early morning), again ADD-CDG-BRU. Don't know for the other days.
read this and I must admit if there's a price for the biggest LOSER award that will be BRU airport
downsizing aircrafts, cancelled routes, no new airliners, downsizing frequency, less passengers....
( ok the terror attacks where here an issue, but the problems where before this )

Hey, Chinese Boy, you may not be aware what BRU has been doing during the past year and before the attacks. New airlines: ANA, SunExpress, Icelandic in winter. Lots of new SN destinations, and also by other airlines. Strong increase in the number of pax. Nice appearances of Emirates A380, Finnair A350. Where have you been in 2015? Certainly not at BRU

Before the attacks BRU was well underway for another record year, despite the already known loss of Jet Airways. You might not be aware of that, but over the past years BRU has won several Routes Marketing awards chosen by the airlines, both at the Europe and the World editions, more than AMS.
