Which Belgian Aviation person (living) would you most want to meet...
...and why?
I'm interested to hear who Belgium has as an equivalent to (for example):
Richard Branson
Harrison Ford
Chesley Sullenberger
Michael O'Leary
etc.
Any suggestions?

for example:
CEO of Brussels Airlines?
Minister of Transport?
Head of Belgian Air Arm?
The King (I believe he's a pilot?)
Any famous aerobatic pilots?
Aeroplane designers?
Celebrity pilots?
The new Miss Belgium (!)
etc. etc.

Interesting question.
IMHO the two persons best representing Belgian aviation are the CEOs of Brussels Airlines and Brussels Airport.
Bernard Gustin didn't have an aviation background. He came from the detergents industry where he was a successful marketing man. He could apply the same methods to Brussels Airlines to make it a viable entity that attracted the attention of big Lufthansa. Less flamboyant than O'Leary but certainly a bright business leader.
Arnaud Feist is also a brilliant CEO who could get Brussels Airport out of the political meanders to run it as a real business, with great success so far.
The fact that these two personalities are keeping their jobs so long shows their capacities and speaks in their favour.
Oh yes, I already met both of them (that was the question of the title).

Excuse me for sounding like a broken vinyl record, but you do it again and again: "aviation" is much more than "commercial air transport" !!!best representing Belgian aviation
Apart from the "small aviation" people I mentioned, the Belgian astronauts should also score high.

Then book an SV4 flight with him

Re: Which Belgian Aviation person (living) would you most want to meet...
come to the 'open bedrijvendag' @ebaw where RAR usually has a small stand where the master himself talks with much passion about his hobby (... job)
Edit: you maybe did this too already

how could you guess ...
But frankly, no, the Open Bedrijven Dag I avoid, I hate and avoid crowds. I do have talked to Master Raymond, though, once on the phone and once, though briefly, when we were parking neighbours at the Keiheuvel fly-in.

This thread is about people who you would like to meet, not people you have already met.
For me it would be Dirk Frimout and/or Frank De Winne.

It's not because I already met Master Raymond briefly that I wouldn't like to meet again, perhaps more extensively - at the contrary!
But I totally agree about Mr. Frimout and Mr. De Winne.

Great answers so far, thank you.
Who are M.Frimout and De Winne?
Someone had also told me about the Belgian astronaut - and that there is shortly to be another?

I want to meet Susy the pilot and Miss Belgium 2018

Re: Which Belgian Aviation person (living) would you most want to meet...
Not sure if a lot of people know who Susy the pilot is, to begin with. She's from Sweden and great ambassador for the Brussels Airlines pilot community on social media. On top of that she's honestly enough to talk about the good and bad things about being a pilot. I'd like to meet her too, once
Apart from that I'd also like to meet 'Vador'. You might wonder who I'm talking about. Vador is a Belgian F-16 pilot. He is well-known on social media such as Instagram for publishing some fantastic photos while flying his F-16 up, down or inverted. And on top of that, he will be flying the BAF F-16 Solo Display coming airshow season.
Finally, not a 'Belgian' aviation person, but I'd really love to meet Buzz Aldrin or any of the Apollo 13 astronauts...
Best regards,
Ivan

We don't know who they are ,apart a few as Luchtzak . Who knows Frimout or Dewinne or the king himself is a member of this site and yes , I met Dirk Frimout a few month after his space adventure. A very intelligent and a kind personality . And of course miss Belgium 2018 !

I join you with the idea to meet the current king. I would like to ask him what went through his mind when he crashed his Robin ( at that time he was still crown prince )
