No but my friend yes I'm in Luanda actually the other problem here where the PCR test of the passagers that where overdue they had to do a new one from the Angolan authorities but Brussels Airlines took the additional costs for them.

Your full story seems weird, can you tell us who told you this story?
No pilot would proceed to and hold over FIH with the intention to land in LAD.

If I read the statement of the SN spokeswoman correctly, the flight was in a holding pattern before flying to FIH, which in turn would be strange since it doesn't correspond with the flight tracking in the article and wouldn't make sense since they'd still land quicker in LAD and refuel.

I found this on airliners.net but no other link posted...anyone has any idea what it could be?

New routes? Rebranding? More collaboration with other *alliance members? New aircraft (apart from the 3 a320 neos)

Or more cost cutting measures that Sphor loves to do at SN?

If it is a remark about OSR / EMA : I meant Ostrava or East Midlands (where they usually fly to, to paint aircraft).

If it was an independent one : I guess that LH should stay the owner of SN, no reason to change that I think.
You can change the livery without a new owner but to simply update it. :)

To announce big changes ahead of the winter does not make much sense. What good would it be to splash cash on a new livery in the middle of a cash crisis?

A new chapter implies new ownership IMO.

What makes most sense to me is that the government rights will be converted into shares and SN will become majority owned by the government. LH would become minority shareholder.
This could include a conversion of previous rights that were converted from obligations owed to the government about 6 years ago and new conversions from the outstanding obligations.
It could also become a 50-50 joint venture to escape EU scrutiny.

Of course, there could also be third parties involved, like another airline group or investment groups as I suggested earlier.

The fact is that with vaccines not resolving the crisis, realization is setting in that the recovery is not close.
But macro is also being set up for a depressive stagflation, with oil and fuel prices soaring, while economies are struggling due to supply-side issues, with companies laying off workers while many are leaving the job market (temporarily), see The Great Resignation and the lie-flat movements.

Big corporations are starting to make moves to position for mid term stagflation and for airlines this means nationalisation as a means to survive.

This would be the sane thing to do right now, but hey, who knows what the announcement is about.

Another way to open a meaningful chapter in the current climate would be by going big on cargo.

To be honest, I don't see Brussels Airlines changing now their identity, by wasting a huge amount of money repainting the fleet while 2 years ago, they didn't want to make a complete painting on some of the a330's to spare some Euro's.
