Ex Ryanair EI-EKA (msn 35022) is actually at TNA for freighter conversion and is registered on 15.01.2022 as OE-IXD to ASL Aviation Holding. It will go afterwards to ASL Airlines Belgium.

"France-based shipping group CMA CGM looks set to launch its own Air Operator Certificate (AOC) airline in the first half of this year, which could mean a phased switch of A330-200 freighter services from its Liege hub in Belgium to Paris CDG. Its four A330-200Fs are operated by Air Belgium out of Liege on a route network offering regular weekkly flights to and from Chicago and Atlanta."

According to an article in De Tijd, Air Belgium will get 3 A380?? Is this correct?

And according to Le Soir and La Libre...BRU Johannesburg and BRU Capetown with Air Belgium...in september.
I guess KF will get 3 A 333 Cargo and not A 380 !

Re: Air Belgium in 2022
Air Belgium surprised us, on a very positive way, already more then once. The beginning was very difficult but since last year they really find their turn and they fly to exactly those destinations with less competition from Belgium. They do what others never dreamed off.Boavida wrote: ↑21 Mar 2022, 21:06 According to an article in De Tijd, Air Belgium will get 3 A380?? Is this correct?

A380? We know that journalist are not clever in types of aircraft. For the moment the triple bridge is not excisting anymore due to a failure, so it will be rather on the double bridges which are under construction. But anyway, an A380 is too big, going from A330-900 to A380. Or they would use them for cargo
Re: Air Belgium in 2022
We can assume cargo is the milk cow at this stage
My messages reflect my personal opinion which may be different than yours. I beleive a forum is made to create a debate so I encourage people to express themselves, the way they want, with the ideas they want. I expect the same understanding in return.
Re: Air Belgium in 2022
CMA CGM Air Cargo has secured foreign air carrier permit from the US DOT to launch flights between the EU and the US, and beyond. End of the contract with Air Belgium getting closer...

What is the crazy reason for registering Belgian freighters in the Austrian Registry? ASL Airlines Belgium does it as well.

Easier and faster procedures from what I've been told.

Re: Air Belgium in 2022
DGTA in Belgium is very slow (see the start of AB/KF)
Why do you think most of the planes, gliders are registred in other countries ? Fast, no additionnal stupid questions....
Re: Air Belgium in 2022
In the ASL Airlines Belgium case, the planes were registered in Belgium and they switched to the Austrian Registry. A loss of time, effort and money...Airbus330lover wrote: ↑25 Mar 2022, 10:56DGTA in Belgium is very slow (see the start of AB/KF)
