Re: LOG + REQ BRU Sunday 12/09/2004
The Kalitta is an B747-200 (check spottersdatabase ). To my knowledge only 2 747-100 of K4 visited EBBR: on March 17 N702CK opf World Airways (and with a lot of commotion @ BIAC because it made to much noise !) and on June 18 a last minut change on a scheduled -200 flight N709CK. So i guess the series 100 isn't exactly warm welcomed in Zaventem and remains (sadly to the spotters) a rarity.Sabena_690 wrote:N704CK Kalita B741F

Thanks for the log Fred.

Yes indeed, this is quite a new plane, but I already saw it 2 or 3 times in BRU during AugustSabena_690 wrote: 9V-SFO SQC B744F (one of the first visits?)

I saw SFO in August too but hadn't seen the delivery info so was surprised. When I checked I also discovered that it had visited before but noone (as usual) had posted it here.
Very few new aircraft ( or first time visitors) seem to be reported here on Luchtzak as there are so few reg spotters - I guess the picture takers don't notice unless there is a special or new paint scheme.
It often seems like if it is not a big jet or capable of being photographed in perfect light there is very little interest ( I am generalizing but this is the impression I get) eg I looked today at the general aviation spotter database and it had only received 179 page views for September - less than 15 visits per day from a mebership of more than 5000.
So keep posting your sightings folks - people do read them.

The delivery was mentioned over here: https://www.aviation24.be/postlite5760-9vsfo.html look at the second postI saw SFO in August too but hadn't seen the delivery info so was surprised.
Sorry Concordino, but it was already mentioned on luchtzak.concordino wrote:When I checked I also discovered that it had visited before but noone (as usual) had posted it here.

I agree with you that not all of them are reg spotters, but you also have to understand that not everybody is an "active" spotter of GA planes.eg I looked today at the general aviation spotter database and it had only received 179 page views for September - less than 15 visits per day from a mebership of more than 5000.

I bow to your greater knowledge of Luchtzak ( my 100+ posts to your 5000+). I didn't visit that thread on "winter schedules", although I did see the aircraft itself on 29 Aug.
Having quickly looked at your links it appears that Sabena_690 has overlooked his own post from 22 August when he saw SFO whilst out with his boss! Need to keep up the record keeping Frederic. LOL

@Concordino:
About mentioning new aircraft: I agree that some birds are not covered over here... Q707-Stef is doing his best to mention as much special visitors as possible in the spottersdatabase though.
I can't agree more: BRU doesn't have enough regspotters unfortunately. We should have to follow the example of for example LHR spotters: plenty of them have acces to movement databases, and warn spotters several times a day of new and special planes which are DUE LHR.
Personally I'm a paying member of http://www.aerotransport.org where I regularly check fleetlists with up-to-date information whether a new frame has entered service or not (which can be handy because for example IB is still taking delivery of new A32S aircraft, so although I saw almost all of them till now, I keep on checking the census list for frames that recently have been delivered from Airbus).
Frederic
I mentioned 'one of the first visits' to draw the attention of regspotters who hadn't seen the bird yet. I saw 9V-SFO not only at BRU but also at LHR during the past few weeks, so this wasn't a new frame for me.Having quickly looked at your links it appears that Sabena_690 has overlooked his own post from 22 August when he saw SFO whilst out with his boss!

In addition to Frederic's list I noted the following during the day:
HB-IXG RJ100 Swiss
S2-ACO DC-10 Biman
G-BOFE Seneca
10+22 A310 German AF
LX-FMR Falcon 50
TC-MNF B737 MNG
A little later I received a text informing me of another Falcon 50 arriving at 8-20 from Teterboro and departing an hour later to Paris so I popped back to 25L in the semi dark to see it (couldn't read it off but N.....) along with
OO-TME Lear Jet
TC-MNH B737 MNG
TF-FIB B767 all white with Loftleidir Icelandic titles.
Not a bad day with 3 new 'frames and a 'scrape plus meeting lots of luchtzakkers including, at one time during the afternoon, 7 reg spotters together. Is this a Belgian record?

This was the last MA B736 I needed...
@Meerkat: 7 regspotters must indeed be a record!

TP608 CS-TNE
WOA DC-10 N303WL
I've also a correction to make the MA601 was HA-LOD not LON
The PGT are you sure it was on monday, because I can't find anything back about a PGT flight.

Hellow!!!
Hi all and specially Sabena 690, haha, funny!
I have the same log as you except that my LOG also
shows the other belgium airlines SN, TV,FQ,TUB.
Can't be else than we have almost the same reg,
we have standed next to each other that day!
We where the only ones that were writing a LOG that day.
didn't expected that there were so many different people
like you and me, that were making LOG's at this site,or for
their own. Nice!!!

I too was there that day but unlike you my log was a little shorter as I rarely write down the Belgian reg's having noted them many times in the past ( I logged around 20 of which 4 were new to me).
This is the beauty of spotting as a hobby - eveyone can do their own thing, although personally that much writing these days would give me arm ache and leave no time for talking to my fellow spotters to find out what is happening in the world of aviation and where we should visit next. (reminder to self - must think up a reason to go to Amsterdam soon!!!)
