25 Sept: strike at LGW ?

Post by LX-LGX »

The Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf says that ground staff Servisair at Gatwick will go on a 24h strike this Saturday (25th September), as from 03h00. Reason for th strike: ach, there isn't, so I don't translate what the unions told the press.

Telegraaf, wo 22 sep 2004 : Personeel vliegveld Gatwick zaterdag in staking

There are many problems at LGW at the moment, I have submitted two lots of news items about it. One is that the aircraft refuellers have voted to strike, and another is the baggage handlers employed by Servisair who are in the TGWU union who are also taking strike action, both this weekend.

Sad that YU-AMB (the only DC10 of JAT) will not be doing one of those flights.

seems the strike was cancelled, because it's business as usual at LGW:

Yes, one of the strikes was called off, but with two different groups of employees threatening action on the same day at different airprots, you lose track of who is doing what, and who has called off their action and who hasn't.
