Well, until they make a special transponder code for medical diversions, I guess we'll have to go with 7700 for technical reasons, right? Trust me, this was a medical diversion.
The flight did make a precautionary landing in Nantes, with priority all the way down. The flight continued as normal afterwards.

Apparently, OO-SFM is not back in operation. It's been a week now since the emergency landing in DKR.
Is it still in Dakar? Rather long for an engine problem.

The had to replace the engine. Normally it will be back in operation tomorrow or the 27th.

She landed on 07L.

I don't think I read about this before, so might be worth mentioning.
There is an A340(-200 or -300) parked near the Lufthansa Technik hangar. Pax version, completely white. Any idea what it's doing there or who the owner is? I can't really seem to find a place to read off the reg.

CS-TQL Airbus A340-300 Hi Fly.
Probably maintenance Lufthansa Technik or spare aircraft for Belgian Airforce A330.

Acccording to
http://avherald.com/h?article=44a739d3&opt=0
the aircraft descended to FL100 near Zurich, later to FL080 and landed normally at Charleroi.
Must have been nice for the passengers to look so closely at the snowy landscape below ... and it never happens when I am on board ! (aviationwise, nothing ever happens to unlucky me  ).

Hi sean,

Haha, I know it isn't a thing the most of the people are willing to happen but,
i can imagine that flightlovers ( just for the fun of it ! ) are happy to have such an experience..
I know I do too, I like 'luchtzakken' ;) ,go-arounds, fast and steep take-offs, and other specials things,
just to have the experience and you will have something to talk about when you're old haha
I don't like it to happen such things when travelling with my wife (hell no ! or my daughter  )
but when I'm alone... bring it on.. :D
but luckily for the other pax these are not common, I never had such an experience once..so..

For us it's even less worse because we should know this won't immediately lead to a quick death haha

But hey, you will have something to talk about now no ? haha

How were the reactions on board BTW, was there info given and why not a diversion ? From ZRH to CRL is still about half an hour/three quarters flying at low altitude..not bad but with a full plane???

THX for a reply sean ..
