spotting facilities @ Brussels .... help us !

Post by Zorba »

Dear Luchtzak- and spottersfriends,

Yesterday we were looking at pictures from Schiphol and all those other airports where spotters have at least a nice spotting place, and we wondering why this isn't posible here in Brussels! We would like too see some changes acording the spotting facilities at EBBR ... That's why we kindly ask you for your coöperation and hints. We are planning to start up a workgroup and we want your ID's!

Are there people who would like to help the spotters in Brussels?

Thanks in advance!

Rutger Leunen and Jens Godeau

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Beste spottersvrienden,

Alvast bedankt...
Rutger Leunen en Jens Godeau

Great idea! About 2 years ago this article appeared in 'Het Laatste Nieuws'

Check the right column, Ignace De Smet has allready written letters without result... If we unite we can force something maybe ;-)

Hallo Rutger & Jens,

Lovenswaardig initiatief ! Ik ben alleszins bereid om mijn steentje bij te dragen. Even horen wat de andere forumleden hiervan denken.

Hey guys, please post in English in this forum!

About the topic itself, I send already e-mails to BIAC through their website to make the suggestion.

If all Luchtzak readers could do the same and have the BIAC postmaster flooded by e-mails and comments, it might help.

How?

André;

We tryed to contact BIAC several times, but they wouldn't listening... Maybe we can make a "petition" => "petitie" in Flemish to make it clear to BIAC?
COMMENTS/IDEA'S/... are welcome :!:

Sorry I don't think this will help ... We can allways try, but maybe a petition will have more effect??

Thanks all for your motivation !!

Rutger

Jens,
What about a big event?
somewhere around the airport to show them how many planespotters there are interrested in better spotting facillities ?

A nice idea... But then we need to have the permission of the police (I think), we need a lot of people/spotters, ... We will think about it!

i think we first need to discuss here in the forum what we actually want. I just send an email to BIAC, but i realized i didnt really know what to ask for. What facilities do we want? and more important: can this be done in reality? i think we first need to think of that and then we all could make that one same suggestion to BIAC, either via mail or a petition or whatever!

Indeed, you are right there!

I want to ask all of you to come to the Luchtzak chat, where we can talk about this!

It think a good parkingplace has to be made. Because it is sometimes dangerous at the watertower (watertoren), maybe some nice seeting or a smaller hill so we can look and take picture over de fence.

thats right silverjet :p
last time we were stuk in those holes :p
but i think there is a good spot, there were the 07R and the 02 cross
there is a place with just grass, maybe we should ask BIAC if there are some possibilitys to construct a spotting place there

If you would like to have a petition-page for better spottingplaces at Brussels Airport I can set it up on this website in 5 mins.

I think the best is a kind of parking, with a SINGLE fence and not to high (for your ladder) .... Will be very nice!
