Re: BRU winter 2010-2011: latest news, routes, airlines
Kind of weird, they will no longer be able to offer good connections to/from Beirut, an important leverage for the route. Are they already dropping the idea to compete with MEA who is (re)entering the market?sn26567 wrote:Cyprus Airways increasing Brussels service in Winter 2010

Also bizarre not to have a week-end service, many people like to take a week off from week-end to week-end.

And SN will expand their codeshares on US Airways...

Wow 75 American destinations. I assume that is together with the UA codeshare.Bralo20 wrote:And SN will expand their codeshares on US Airways...

That's not bad at all. :p
By the way, in the latest b-there magazine of SN, Newark (Continental) is still mentionned as waiting for government approval. Why does this codeshare takes so much time?
Re: BRU winter 2010-2011: latest news, routes, airlines
I'm having the feeling that the government approval isn't the reason why SN isn't codesharing (yet) with CO on the EWR route... If you look at CO60/1 then you'll see that it's a very succesfull route without SN... I think CO has lack of space on their flights to codeshare with SN... Maybe a second rotation or upgrade in equipment may be necessary first.MR_Boeing wrote:By the way, in the latest b-there magazine of SN, Newark (Continental) is still mentionned as waiting for government approval. Re: BRU winter 2010-2011: latest news, routes, airlines
Well, I was thinking about that to. I expect CO upgrading its EWR route this winter or at least next summer. The only problem for them could be no available aircraft. CO is in urgent need of extra long haul airplanes.Bralo20 wrote:I'm having the feeling that the government approval isn't the reason why SN isn't codesharing (yet) with CO on the EWR route... Re: BRU winter 2010-2011: latest news, routes, airlines
The sole reason that CO60/1 wasn't upgraded this summer to a 777 was indeed lack of equipment... Maybe we can expect a permanent 777 rotation when they receive their new ones they have on order...MR_Boeing wrote: Well, I was thinking about that to. Re: BRU winter 2010-2011: latest news, routes, airlines
Or just a second daily flight (B752). CO can operate a B777 on it's own, than they could also operate two daily flights (B764/B772 and B752) codesharing with SN. CO operated a B777 in summer 2009, a bad summer for aviation, but they performed very well, so with the rising demand for seats and the help of SN a second daily flight is possible for sure.Bralo20 wrote:The sole reason that CO60/1 wasn't upgraded this summer to a 777 was indeed lack of equipment... Re: BRU winter 2010-2011: latest news, routes, airlines
CO 60/61 will be 772 as from end of December until at least April. Maybe the start of year-round CO 772?
Re: BRU winter 2010-2011: latest news, routes, airlines
Well that's a good start.HighInTheSky wrote:CO 60/61 will be 772 as from end of December until at least April. Maybe the start of year-round CO 772?
Re: BRU winter 2010-2011: latest news, routes, airlines
Yep, starting from 22 dec 2010 the service is loaded with "EQV" as equipment (could be either the 764 or the 772) and starting from 30 dec 2010 the flight will be upgraded to a 777.HighInTheSky wrote:CO 60/61 will be 772 as from end of December until at least April. I thought that my friends at CO told me that they are already codesharing with SN...MR_Boeing wrote:Wow 75 American destinations. I assume that is together with the UA codeshare.Bralo20 wrote:And SN will expand their codeshares on US Airways...

Only 2 more left and If I'm not mistaken, they are already 'reserved' for certain routes.Bralo20 wrote:The sole reason that CO60/1 wasn't upgraded this summer to a 777 was indeed lack of equipment... I guess BRU will be a parmanent T7-operation once CO starts receiving their 787's... The 788 is better suited for some missions CO uses the T7 on due to lack of range in the rest of the fleet.
Re: BRU winter 2010-2011: latest news, routes, airlines
The second daily EWR rotation is constantly going on and off. They have requested (and received) slots for such operations several times before but for some reason these flights don't materialize.MR_Boeing wrote:Or just a second daily flight (B752).
