What's the reason airlines switch to much bigger planes (fe 32x --> 343) when flying to BRU ? See also TK or AT sometimes. Is it due to large pax demands or because of special occasions ?

Additional flight to/from Paris CDG this morning. In addition to the regular B737-300 flight SN 3633/3634, an Avro RJ100 with the same timetable has been scheduled under flight numbers 1535/1536. This shows that a spare A330 could have been useful...

I might go and have a look at that 340, any idea which runway they'll put it down on? I'd think 25L, but I'm not that sure...

I guess 25L.
Flight will be operated by LN-RKF.

It landed on 25L 5 minutes ahead of schedule.
Departure was, as is the case just about always, on 25R. Departure was about 15-20 minutes late.

TK/AT/MS etc, they do it primarily for heavy demands in the holiday time. There is a big diaspora for these countries in Belgium and while the inbound flight is usually quite open, the outbound is packed (in the beginning of July) and vice versa at the end of August.

SK upgraded due to severe crew shortages on the 32S fleet, hence they are also sending 343's to LHR these days. Add to this, that there are actually quite some technical difficulties happening at the same time on the short haul fleet, and there's your answer for the nice visitor yesterday.

Thanks for the clarifying response. Always nice to see some more heavies at BRU.
