Information from Brussels Airport: The heavy snowfall causes capacity problems on the ground and as a result of that we can't handle incoming traffic for the moment.

Indeed, there are already a huge number of cancellations, delays and diversions. Diverted:

FQ 4383 from Sharm El Sheik to Ostend (now back in BRU)
9W 225 from New York to Ostend
US 750 from Philadelphia (seems to be flying to CGN or FRA)
AA 172 from New York
AA 088 from Chicago
AZ 148 from Milan LIN
LY 331 from Tel Aviv
SN 2324 from Goteborg to Ostend (now back in BRU)
SN 2724 from Geneva
JU 272 from Belgrade via Amsterdam

Some shots of today.
Btw I strongly recommend you not to take the "Zeven Tommen" with your car (left side of the treshold of RWY02). I spend more than an hour stucked in the snow, and a tractor was necessary to get me out of that sh**... There is so much snow that the road isn't visible

Great pics! Really like the last one. What equipment do you use ?

How's the condition of the other roads around BRU (Kortenbergsesteenweg, Ringlaan-Abelag, Namenstraat-soccerfields, 127bis road, ...) ?
I might go spotting on monday, but when there's snow all over the roads, I might reconsider this. And it doesn't look like the snow will melt before monday ...

Main roads are OK. In general, roads used by busses (De Lijn & co) are cleared. However, smaler roads such as 127bis en soccer field are in poor conditions. I recommend you to go there by foot. And of course don't forget my last message : consider Zeven Tommen as a suicidal road ;) Even 4 wheel drive are unable to escape. I recommend you to park your car in front of the last house before the fields

No, we flew ams lhr cpt. Ba just changed the bru lhr leg by the ams lhr leg.

Btw all my compliments to the teamleader of (the the handling agent of) ba in ams. Unfortunately his combination of effectiveness, friendlieness and knowledge becomes rare. Upon my return in Belgium, i 'll write a letter to ba to compliment him. IT was really exceptional!

Cheers mates,

Stij
