Photos BAF C130 above my house/hometown

Post by Fabke »

Today my friend Eddy , who's flying a BAF C130 made some low passes above my house and hometown (Ronse) :D , quickly took my camera and took some nice photos :D , sadly my shutter speed was set to 1/1000 and that's the reason why the props are "frozen" , anyway I hope you like the pics...and next time better as he flies almost every week above our city  I will still have other chances to take stunning photos , for the reg. spotters , the plane in fact was CH-12.

I've always wondered why this type of plane and other similar types have two steal cables connecting the tail of the plane to the front of the plane.

Look at first picture closely.

What's the purpose of this?

Indeed. You can see this very often with older props. The longer the cables, the better. Today, in the new aircraft, all these antenna's are internal and thus not visible from the outside.

Nice pics :)

You can also see those antennas on old B737-200's and on old BAe146's. But mostly you can find them planes which are used by militay or governments.

They fly quite often above/over my homeplace which is Zaventem-Sterrebeek but also sometimes they pass above my school which is located in Heverlee-Leuven
