BRU 31/07/2013

Post by woutertheboy »

As already mentioned in the BRU 19/07/13 topic, OO-SFZ lost it's left wingtip and is standing in front of hangar 41 (maintenance hangar of SN). Due this incident SN221 BRU-BJL is already delayed over 1 hour. Someone knows what happened with this plane?
When in doubt, hold on to your altitude. No-one has ever collided with the sky.

Looks like the problem has been solved, OO-SFZ has just took off to BJL but we still don't know what happened with this frame. I also don't see any SN accidents listed on the aviation herald... :?: :?:

The Federal Aviation Administration wrote about it. Aviation Herald only reports incidents during active flights.

A view of the damaged wing.
I'm surprised to see that it could make the flight back home with only one winglet.

One woud ask himself if this happened with a Ryanair-plane, half luchtzak and HLN screwing around about safety regulations... But oh no, it's our little baby girl SN, don't dare to point your finger at her!

The A330 winglet is not big a deal, a few new screws and you put a new one in if the base is not bent. But the wingtip of the B777 and hit by the trailing edge...that's a bit messy.

With the other small "incident" in H41 (btw anyone know which airframe it was?), that makes a bad week for SN's insurer.
