Very nice shots!

Another question: what kind of plane is it and what kind of operations does it perform. (war, transport, troops, ... ?)

Nice pictures indeed.
The Nimrod carries out 3 main roles: anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface unit warfare and search and rescue.
But the best movement of the year has to come in this evening: a 76...

a bit off topic?

Not quite so big a deal for all of us!!

First saw this particular 'frame on 29th June 1968 on the production line at Woodford, along with XV226 and XV227. XV226 had made its first flight the day before. This makes this bird some 36 years old - much older than many Luchtzakkers!!

Just dug out my full log for that day which was a Woodford Airshow. Highlights in addition to the Nimrods were 3 Varig,1 Lan-Chile and 1 Thai HS748's, a couple of Vulcans and a Shackleton.

The plane is called Nimrod and the RAF is the only one flying with it.

This is a military version of the legandary COMET.

WOW it seems you all had some great time in EBOS this afternoon :)

Is the Nimrod still in OST this weekend ?

This must have been a big surprise for Louise in OST this afternoon. Has anybody you met here ?

Yes we had a great time! And yes she's coming back (talking about the Nimrod ;) !), but there's confusion about the day. Some are telling tomorrow at about 11 am local time and others on monday at about 11 am, also local time :D

Didn't see or hear Louise
