Thai and Thai Smile are to re-merge, no timeframe given and no idea if Smile brand will continue afterwards like it did originally as TG inhouse LCC, before going independant under own certificate.

AirAsia India was renamed AIX Connect some months back, AIX being Air India Express, AAI branding remains in use till November, as a new one is being worked on for merger of all four airlines to new Air India.

Another Indian carrier may merge, this time Go First into Indigo.

That's probably the only way to save Go First, which is almost bankrupt.globetrotter wrote: ↑17 Jun 2023, 13:33 Another Indian carrier may merge, this time Go First into Indigo.

Merger begun as first A320 has been transeffered to TG with Smile title removed,, so the brand will not remain.globetrotter wrote: ↑05 Jun 2023, 11:15 Thai and Thai Smile are to re-merge, no timeframe given and no idea if Smile brand will continue afterwards like it did originally as TG inhouse LCC, before going independant under own certificate.

A journalist from Brazzanews reports that "a source" told him that ECair's HB-JJE (Privatair 757-200) will soon take the sky:flightlover wrote: ↑05 Jul 2022, 02:05At least one will not fly again. It is standing scavenged for parts in front of the ex-LH technics hangar.
Re: Airline bankruptcies, ceased operations, restructurations
I highly doubt HB-JJE will ever take to the sky again. Seen the state it’s in, and the notification circulating on social media that it is to be broken up at EBBR quite soon. Perhaps they are talking about the other 757 (former HB-JJD)? As far as I can tell it should be stored at Brazzaville, but I can not find any info about the condition it’s in.
Honestly, getting HB-JJE airworthy again would be nothing short of a miracle, it would be a LOT cheaper to go out and buy a brand new aircraft.

I call that rumor "BS": the aircraft mentioned is certainly NOT the HB-JJE, as they would need to fly in those engines from Brazzaville to Brussels (and then do loads of overdue maintenance). I doubt that it will be feasible for anyone to make that old bird flyworthy ever again. I heard rumors that it will leave its parking position at EBBR - but only to be scrapped within the premises of the airport. Sad end for a 757 - but that's the hard economic reality.

Just for reference sake Egypt wrapped up its paper airline brand Air Sinai three years ago, all flights to Israel are by Egypt Air branded aircraft since, they would appear there sometimes in past as well.
Air Sinai did have its own livery and IATA code when it first began operations after the peace agreeme in 1979, it used a 737-200 back then.
